The first edition of the Cage-Free Tracker report in Asia, published in 2022, surveyed more than 50 food companies from or operating in India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand. It was found that 70% of them are already phasing out the use of eggs produced in battery cages in their supply chains.

A total of 32 companies operating in Asia responded, with 16% reporting progress in sourcing cage-free eggs in Asia or nationally in Asian countries.
